Encourage safe practices and monitor your child's online activity with
GoGuardian Parent (Grades 3-12)
As we gear up for another semester, we want to help our community ensure their child experiences a safe, healthy, and engaging digital learning environment, wherever learning happens!
The Moses Lake School District has utilized Go Guardian the past few years to help educators filter and manage student activity while online. Our teachers are able to see, in real time, what students are doing on their school district assigned device, open or close tabs, and access the history of where each student has been while online using their school district assigned device.
Now, we are excited to offer parents (for students in Grades 3-12) the new GoGuardian Parent App– an easy-to-use mobile app that gives you information and tools to engage in honest conversations with your children; helping to guide them in making safe, healthy, and productive decisions online. GoGuardian Parent also provides you control to block and monitor websites, pause access to the internet, and view a timeline of your child’s activity. These features are only available while your student is on their school district assigned device. Monitoring of personal cell phones, desktop computers or personal Chromebooks will not be monitored.
Here’s how you can use GoGuardian Parent to support your child in navigating their online learning experience:
Engage in open and honest conversations with your child about how they are spending their time online: GoGuardian Parent App provides parents with easy-to-read reports that can be used to have open and honest conversations about how your child is spending their time on their school device. As a parent, you will have insight into how much time your student is spending on certain website categories during the school day. With the GoGuardian Parent App, you can use the student reports to celebrate your child’s positive choices as they engage in their digital learning environment.
Filter and set time limits based on your child’s and your family’s needs: GoGuardian knows that every child is unique and each family’s needs may vary. This is why GoGuardian Parent App now includes features that allow families to make the choices that are right for their child and their family. This means that through the GoGuardian Parent App, each guardian now has the ability to block websites and pause internet access on school-issued devices during out-of-school hours. With the GoGuardian Parent App, you can set schedules that work for your child to ensure that they build healthy screen-time habits.
