Click "Apply for an Account"
💡 Contact a school administrator to see if your school already has an account. If you need help updating the login information associated with your account, please contact UserSupport@mlscreener.org
3. Input information and register
Fill in the 12-digit BEDS Code, school name, your school email and password to create a new account
✅ Account approvals are usually processed in 24 hours, but can take up to 3 business days. You will receive an activation link via email.
🖥️ Once activated, log in at the top right corner of the page to complete the following steps.

💡 One BEDS code, one account.
Each school or district has a unique BEDS code. Your school or district account may have several users with one BEDS code/ password credential for the MLS.
For new students, click "Register a Student" in the "Student Information" panel.
2. Enter information into the registration form and click "Create"
A downloadable Student Registration Worksheet (PDF) located on page 2, is available to help you gather all the required information efficiently.
3. To edit student information, select "Existing Students" from the "Student Information" panel.

Select assessment type
Choose from Reading Comprehension, Math, or Vocabulary.
💡 We recommend starting with the Reading Comprehension test.
🧮 For the Math test: Provide students with paper and a pencil. Calculators are not allowed.

2. Fill out the "Assessment Login" form
📋 A downloadable Assessment Worksheet (PDF) located on page 3, is available to help you gather all the required information efficiently.
💡"Start Test" will open the assessment in a new window. For your security, you will be logged out once the assessment begins.
✔️Tech check: an audio/display and practice test is available. Select "Check box to run a sound/display check and view a practice test. " and then "Start Practice". The practice test will open in a new window and you will not be logged out.
Having trouble during the test? We're here to help.
If a student receives "NA" as a placement by not passing the computer literacy section, a proctor may choose to retest the student at a later date, if appropriate.
If the test is interrupted before completing the practice section, the student will start over from the beginning.
If a student has advanced past the practice section, their progress will be saved. Fill out the assessment login form again and the test will resume where the student last left off.
Click "Student Performance Reports" after logging in to access the report table.
Download the Student Performance Report
The "Student Performance Reports" table will list all students who have completed an assessment. You can:
A. Export Student Data to download a .csv file of all students in the table.
B. Download all Reports to download a .zip file containing all report .pdf files (if you have many students this may take several minutes).
C. Download a single .pdf file of a report by clicking on the assessment in the student row of the table.
🔍Use the search box located at the top right corner of the table to view a particular student.

💡 District accounts can access all student reports district-wide. Students are organized in the table by school.
Student Performance Report Table:
Account holders will be contacted via email to manually update or input the following information on the “Existing Students” table:
A. Student’s Final SIFE Determination
B. Student’s NYSSIS or OSIS number, if missing
C. Student school placement, if missing (for district accounts only)
