S.T.E.M.

Overview & Rationale:

Overview: Here is a digital space dedicated to offering our M.L.E.S. students and families a way to engage in science inquiry, learn science and STEM topics, and share discoveries. This site will evolve and adjust to the anticipated needs of our Mountain Lion Pride.

Rationale: The items and options offered here aim to support Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) learning and discovery within our distance learning. The primary tool for our distance learning will be Discovery Education. I provided assignments and tasks for every grade level.

Students, look at the topics and areas of science. Choose at least ONE assignment and try. Trying means you will read (with help if needed), follow directions, and share (type or fill-in in your responses). Parents, feel free to engage and assist your children as we can all learn together. Students, you are NOT expected or required to complete ALL the assignments. You should choose the areas that interest you and try those first.

As we continue, I will add more STEM resources and tools to this site. Feel free to engage in any area you find interesting!

Be Scientists, be Engineers, use the Technology you have, reason and understand through Math, be inquisitive, Kilo (observe and think), and try your best! Discovering and learning can be fun!

        • How do you DE?

      • Experience: Will take you to your ʻHome Pageʻ where you have access to all your DE Experiences

      • Science Techbook: where you can explore other grade-level content, or your own grade-level content. This is a great place to learn and discover! Think of this like a Kindergarten through 5th Grade digital Textbook. Thereʻs so much to see and learn.

        • *Note: Use the (2018) versions, they are actually the newer ones... I know, the other one says (New), but those are the older techbooks... sometimes, things donʻt make sense in this world!

      • Board Builder: A tool for you to organize your thoughts, add content, create presentations, and share out what you learned with the world! PS, if you create a board, share it with me! You can email me, joseph.reale@mles.k12.hi.us
