Prof. P. Suresh completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2010, following his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Periyar Arts College, Cuddalore (affiliated with the University of Madras), and Madurai Kamaraj University, respectively. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Puerto Rico, USA, from 2009 to 2010. Subsequently, he joined the faculty at Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.
His research group focuses on organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, green chemistry, heterogeneous catalysis, and chemosensors. He has successfully guided seven PhD, six M.Phil., and thirty-two M.Sc. students and is currently supervising four PhD students, along with several short-term research interns. He has published over thirty-five articles in reputable international journals, edited a book, and contributed several book chapters. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, Prof. Suresh has held various administrative positions at MKU, including Deputy Director at IQAC and MKU, and Deputy Director of the Start-up Cell, MKU-RUSA 2.0. He also maintains and provides services for major instrumental facilities such as NMR, SEM, GC-MS, and LC-MS. Moreover, he serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals.
