Every young person deserves at least one trusted adult.
Not a perfect adult.
Not a mental health professional.
Just someone who notices when something seems off, asks a caring question, and knows how to respond.

Whether you're a parent, teacher, coach, counselor, youth leader, or community member,

Kristin Gallagher - Certified YMHFA Instructor & Tactical Love Advocate
YMHFA is an evidence-based training program that teaches adults how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in adolescents ages 12 to 18. Similar to CPR for physical injuries, it provides the skills needed to offer initial help and connect youth to professional care.
The course will teach you how to apply the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE):
• Assess for risk of suicide or harm.
• Listen nonjudgmentally.
• Give reassurance and information.
• Encourage appropriate professional help.
• Encourage self-help and other support strategies.
