I have been teaching 4th grade for over years! I began at Ella Elementary in 2003 and taught there for one year, and have been at Covillaud since 2004. I grew up in Yuba City and Marysville. I attended Barry Elementary, McKenney Intermediate, and Marysville High School. I then attended Yuba College for my Associate's Degree, then CSU, Chico for my Bachelor's, Teaching Credential, and Master's Degree. I can't imagine being in any other profession, or at any other school!
In addition to being a teacher, I also have the roles of mom, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, granddaughter...you get it. I am very close to my family. We spend holidays together, vacation together, and talk often. My sister, Mrs. Sharma, teaches 3rd grade right next door at Covillaud! Many of my family members will make an appearance in our class throughout the year. My daughter, Amelia, is in 10th grade this year. When I became a mom, it opened my eyes to seeing school from a parent perspective, and I really try to be the kind of teacher that I would want for my child.
My favorite thing to do in the whole world is to see it! I love to travel and adventure. I plan trips to new cities, states, and even countries that I haven't been to. I like to experience the different landscapes, cultures, local activities, and food. I especially love activities that are in or near waterfalls, lakes, rivers, and the ocean. I have been to 26 of our 50 United States, and look forward to visiting more. I've also traveled to the countries: Mexico, Italy, Spain, France, and the Bahamas, and would love to visit Canada and Australia in the next few years.
