Graduation Exemption for Eligible Homeless Students
Under AB 1806, the MJUSD allows an exemption for qualified homeless students who transfer between schools any time after the completion of the student's second year of high school. The exemption from all coursework and other requirements that are in addition to the statewide coursework requirements can be granted unless the district makes a finding that the pupil is reasonably able to complete the district’s graduation requirements in time to graduate from high school by the end of the pupil’s fourth year of high school. Eligible homeless students will use the state coursework requirements of 130 credits for graduation.
