My name is Alexis Barker.

Currently, I am the special education teacher at 3 different schools: Coruda, Browns Valley and Marysville Charter Academy of Arts. I work with amazing paraprofessionals who help support student with learning disabilities. I work with the all teachers at the schools to help students who are struggling learners. I even write IEPs.

By far, I love when I get time to work with students in small groups.

My favorite day of school is picture day. I have taken so many school photos (15 years worth) but now I love the silly photos. One year I pretended to be a teenager, covering my face with my hand. Another year, I got to school and there was a spider in my hair. But I do this so students can look at my keys and name tags and giggle. What will I think of this year?
