INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUMMER WORK!
This summer, incoming Freshman will be reading the first section of the book, American Colonies, by Dr Alan Taylor. It is fascinating introduction to the period BEFORE the American colonies were established. It introduces important themes and concepts we will start discussing on day ONE of our history class. It is the first step toward success in American Studies! The assignment is to read four chapters (Introduction and CHs #1-3) and answer the accompanying quesions.
The total reading is about 106 pages of the book!
THIS ASSIGNMENT IS DESIGNED TO BE INTERESTING AND SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS! Each chapter has its own page tab above. Each chapter has a unique REQUIRED set of questions to accompany the Chapter reading. Each chapter also has its own EXTRA CHALLENGE for those who wish to push themselves a bit (but it is not required)!
The more you allow yourself to get into the summer work, the better your experience doing the work will be. It is not onerous but will help you get into the right frame of mind for starting the year out strong.
