The Family Consumer Science (FCS) curriculum offered within the Marshfield R-1 School District consists of courses offered at Marshfield Junior High and Marshfield High School. The junior high course is offered as an introductory course and is not a prerequisite for entry into the courses offered at the high school.
The FCS department at Marshfield High School falls under the DESE designation of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs and, as such, must meet certain requirements as indicated by the Perkins IV law. Students are classified as concentrator within this program if the student has earned two more sequential credits, defined locally, in any state-approved CTE program grades 9-12. Students are classified as Completers if they have taken all of the courses within a state-approved Marshfield CTE program.
