A community based initiative that brings local elemntary students closer to the marvels of environmental science. Through interactive experiences held in the serene expanse of Elizabeth's Woods, near Morgantown, these events serve as a platform to educate young minds about forest ecosystems and the pressing topic of climate change.

The Research Apprenticeship Program (RAP) is an opportunity to pair freshman and sophomore students with graduate mentors, offering them invaluable hands-on research experience. In my role as a mentor, I take pride in not only guiding but also inspiring early career researchers. I introduce apprentices to crucial research methodologies, encourage their active engagement in discussions, and provide personalized guidance tailored to their needs. To ensure a constructive learning journey, I work collaboratively with my mentees to establish a Mentor-Mentee Agreement, setting clear expectations and nurturing a supportive and growth-focused environment.
As a volunteer judge for the WVU Biology Undergraduate Research Symposium, I contribute to guiding and supporting early-career researchers, fostering their growth and passion for scientific inquiry.
