Maharaja Institute of Technology Mysore was established in the year 2007 by MET® in a serene location surrounded by sprawling landscape a bit offset from the urbane disruption. Institute is initiated and built by a group of reputable people recognized for their eminence in the field of Science and Technology. Institute was born as a casting of its founders’ eminence and rich experience poured into the mould of their values and aspirations. The Institute made its beginning with an intake of 300 seats encompassing five engineering disciplines. As a toddler in technical education, the institute shown a brisk growth to its potential leaving foot marks at numerous miles stones soon just in a decade. Institute owns a stature known for serving the society with quality education and is well accepted by all the stakeholders. To the date, the institute is nurturing an intake of 900 plus offering various programs at undergraduate, postgraduate and research level. The alumnae of this institute have been extensively acknowledged by the society and industry alike..

All the UG Departments at MIT Mysore are recognized by both VTU and UoM. The research contribution by the faculty is increasing with every day and being converted to patent and products periodically. All the departments have active collaborations with industry and strive hard to align the research inline with the current market trend.
All the faculty are expected to conduct research and publish their findings
All the faculty should apply for research fund in support of their research from sponsoring agencies within India or abroad .
The requirement to take research in career expectation and will be balanced with other academics obligation
The faculty and students are required to carry out their research in compliance with the college obligation and any ethical and contractual obligations.
Research Committee is chaired by the Principal is responsible for research strategies and for the development of the policies.
Faculty and students may allocate research funding based on their merit of the proposal
Each faculty and its constituent academic unit is required to develop and implement its own research plan.
Faculty are required to comply with the Institutional intellectual property policy
The college establishes the center of excellence to raise the research profile of the Institution which includes all the areas of engineering and management. Encourages the faculty and student to carryout their research in inter disciplinary areas and with the industries.
