He started with various supplementary cementitious materials such as Fly Ash, GGBS, Silica Fume, Alcofine that can be used in place of conventional materials. Further, he showcased on differences in embodied energy and carbon footprint of basic and new generation concrete. He highlighted the importance of GGBS and slag sand material in concrete and its various applications in undergoing and completed projects. He concluded with remarks of GGBS as the best sustainable and durable alternative material for cement and slag sand as the best alternative for fine aggregate for plastering and concrete works.
