In the case of accident in side crash of car , there is strong probability that the passengers will be injured, specifically the women passengers.
There increase in use of car by women in 21st centaury specially in India , due increase in women involvement in multiple sector.
Now in such case if the passenger women is pregnant , then the results may be severe and fetal , not only for women but the baby also,
so in that case it is very important to study the effects of impact in car side crash and for further research reference .Compared to frontal and rear crash side impact is more severe because of smaller resistive area. So it necessary to create a dummy which will be used for further research.
•In the 21st century the use of four wheeler car is used , it is said that there are 300 million cars are in India today. Changing demand , requirement and financial investment are some reason for buying a car India .
•However the number of accident that happens a day are also increasing . Even if we consider the car, Accident will always happened due to small human error or Machin error after taking all the precautions. So we have minimize the maximum effect or loss that happened due to that accident to the people seating inside the car.
OBJECTIVES
Phase 1 : To create a dummy cad model of pregnant women.
Phase 2 : To analyze the dummy model in ANSYS or LS Dyna.
Phase 3 : To perform the virtual side impact test to record its effect .
Due to side impact body of passenger get hit from side and result in severe injuries , head injuries, ear injuries (most often caused by broken glass and airbags), neck injuries, back injuries, rib injuries, shoulder and arm injuries, or hip and leg injuries , head, chest, legs, and abdomen/pelvis.
Due to less resistive area(crash space) in the side of car than frontal and rear impact crash , it causes more severe damage for the same force of impact like frontal and rear.
Various researches are carried out for overall study of side impact, in which the impact angle, g force, seating position are studied.
Also there is some difference in body of men and women and age factor is also there in other words , the two factor which need to be consider for occupant impact study are gender factor and age factor.
Other than this for extreme accurate studies, factors like seating position, and response on accident like muscle contraction etc can also be consider , however it is somewhat time consuming and expensive.
It is found that the angle of impact can also affect results. Impact speed , crush space, occupant position are some factor leading to injuries . It is found that the force of120g can result in severe accidents.
Some common body parts which are mostly affected are pelvis ,head, thorax etc , however other body organs also may damage. In women more care need to be taken.
For pregnant women much more care is need to be taken .
