Meet Missy

Hi! I'm glad to meet you!  Let me tell you a little bit about me...

I am a 25+ year veteran of non-profit and business leadership, with experience in operational, financial, and administrative organizational management. In addition to my unique strategic planning and board management skills, I have demonstrated expertise in fundraising and leading volunteer teams to accomplish complex long-term goals. I am a trusted friend to the Hartselle business community and have long-standing generational connections to the Morgan County area. My integrity, independent-mindedness, collaboration, and financial competence will bring value to the City of Hartselle.

As the President/CEO of the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce, I led this team to a 32% increase in membership over a 4 year period (2020-2023) and a 73% increase in revenue. With an incredible team of volunteers, I launched two additional non-profit organizations to support our growing community - the HACC Foundation (Hartselle for Tomorrow) and the Historic Downtown Hartselle Business League. I also worked with the board to spearhead the first-ever capital campaign for the organization and worked to rebrand the Chamber through a community-wide initiative that included more than 200 volunteers. 

My experiences as a Director of Youth Ministry, as a public school & homeschool educator, and as a mother of five children, give me insight into the complexities of navigating a multi-generational community. I currently work part-time with the North Alabama conference of the Global Methodist Church and volunteer leading women’s Bible studies and coordinating the prayer ministries at First Methodist Church.  All of this is undergirded by my commitment to personal prayer and the daily pursuit of His presence.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in communications from Auburn University. I also obtained a certificate for the IEDC-accredited Auburn University Basic Economic Development Course. I am a certified Les Mills BodyPump instructor.  I am the proud wife of 34 years to David, and recently became a grandmother to twin girls. I am currently most passionate about serving Hartselle and living in the joy of my growing family.
