In December 2023, Mission of Hope & Redemption Community Food Pantry was born from a simple but powerful realization: hunger is a crisis we can help solve together.

We saw firsthand the challenges facing families in Philadelphia's Logan/Nicetown community—neighbors working to put food on their tables while navigating the rising cost of everyday necessities. What began as a vision shared with our church congregation became more than words of faith. It became a call to action.

We started simply, with donated food, willing hands, and a determination to serve. As the need became known, volunteers stepped forward, community organizations and local businesses joined us, and what began with a few boxes of food steadily grew.

Today, Mission of Hope & Redemption serves approximately 200 families each week through our client-choice Community Food Pantry, supported by a dedicated team of 15 volunteers. But our work reaches beyond food. Through community outreach, essential resources, seasonal initiatives, and partnerships, we continue working to strengthen the community we call home.

What began with a vision continues with a commitment: to serve with hope, compassion, dignity, and love, one family at a time.
