Year 2
Year 2
Students discovered and discussed where we use AI in our daily lives, how Gen AI is used in films and gaming and ways that AI is used to help our environment. The children were able to recognise where AI was used and demonstrated an awareness of how we should use AI responsibly.
Children discussed what they have learned about the ScratchJr app. They began to identify the start of sequences in real-world scenarios, and learned that sequences need to be started in ScratchJr. Children created programs and ran them in full-screen mode using the Green flag.
Pupils followed a sequence of commands and predicted the outcome. Then they matched commands that had differing sequences but the same outcome before creating a separate set of commands to investigate how they had changed the outcome.
Year 2 created a program using a given design. They worked out the actions of a sprite in an algorithm, then decided which blocks to use to meet the design. After planning their design, they built the sequences of blocks needed to complete the design.
Children doned their headphones and tuned into the correct channel to enjoy an immersive audio experience and learn about habitats for science.
