What will my scholar be doing each day?

Whether rising into K2 or 7th grade, there is lots of fun and learning planned for these summer days!

Mission Grammar’s Summer Academy will engage with our newly renovated classrooms and playground while becoming mathematicians, authors, scientists, and advocates! We have a specific summer curriculum filled with rigorously differentiated mathematics, language and literacy instruction. Bridging these subjects, science and the real world, scholars will be engaged with Museum of Science experiments, as well as designing and creating a boat that can be tracked in the ocean for years to come! At the same time, expect some furry woodsy creatures to be visiting. Our goal is to explicitly connect scholars’ academic growth with their future aspirations and role as local and global community members.

Summer is about academic learning, but also social-emotional learning. We have not forgotten about scholars’ artistic and athletic ventures! Throughout the summer, scholars learn new sports through coaching and receive dance lessons through BalletRox. These active sessions are focused on team-building and perseverance. Scholars will engage in art class with Ms. Ellie focusing on learning new artistic skills, like graphic design! While participating in workshops around drumming, sculpting, and mask-making, scholars will grow in their creative expression and patience! There will be a showcase of their science and art projects, as well as a dance recital, during the last week of Summer Academy!

Scholars will be using their brains and bodies all summer long!
