1. Be aware that Google Meet sessions will be recorded by the teacher and will be uploaded to Google Classroom for further review.
2. Photography and recordings of sessions for personal and social media posting use is prohibited. You don’t have permission to take pictures or record from live sessions.
3. Google Meets Chat is strictly for class discussions.
4. Be on time and mark your attendance. Try logging into the live session a few minutes early to make sure your device is working properly.
5. Mark your attendance before you enter the live session. A daily attendance question will be posted every day.
6. Mic and Camera off. Mute your mic and keep it off until it is your time to speak. Your device will pick up any sound you make or sounds that others are making around you. Make sure your camera is off when logging into your Google Meets.
7. Find a good spot. Make sure to find a quiet place with good lighting and limited distractions. You must be sitting up right (ex. at a desk or table).
8. Be presentable. Make sure you wear appropriate attire to attend our online class. You may be asked to turn your camera on during class discussions.
9. Be present. Your mind and body must be present for each meeting. Don't get up and leave without asking permission. Only work on what the teacher is instructing you to do.
10. Avoid distractions. Get a drink of water, snack, or take a restroom break before or after class sessions. Do not crunch on snacks, talk to your family members, play with your pet, listen to music, use social media, or play online games, watch tv, or do anything you wouldn't do in a class at school. Only work on what the teacher is instructing you to do. Do not leave without permission, you may be called randomly to answer a question.
11. Have materials ready. Gather any materials you need for your class ahead of time.
12. Be respectful. Treat everyone with respect. Never make fun of someone’s ability to read, write, or their classwork.
13. Wait your turn. If you have something to say or a question to ask, type it in the chat. You may also unmute your mic to speak when your teachers ask if there are any questions.
14. Consequences and praise. Just like in the classroom, students will receive consequences for bad behaviors and praise for good behaviors.
15. If you are having trouble hearing me or seeing the presentation in the live sessions, log off and then log back in. Most of the times that fixes the problem.
16. Keep in mind that virtual learning is new to everyone. Please, have patience and try your best.
