Recruitment Plan

The MHS T-STEM Academy was created to change the lives of students, particularly students from disadvantaged backgrounds, first-generation [college-going], lower SES, at-risk students interested in STEM-fields by immersing them in a college going culture with strong academic and mentoring support.

• During the spring semester, recruitment presentations are conducted at all MCISD Junior High Schools.

• Presentations are conducted for 8th grade students and their parents which showcase the programs and benefits of the Mission T-STEM Academy.

• Counselors distribute and collect applications throughout the Spring semester.

• Application decisions are mailed to students/parents in late May.

Additional, T-STEM activities/news are continually shared via local media, social media, and the MCISD Public Relations office.
