Applications will close on January 26, 2024 @ 4:30 p.m.
Enrollment in the P-Tech Academy at Summit High School is by application only. Current 8th grade students within the MISD attendance zone may apply to attend. Interested students need to fully complete the application and meet deadlines for recruitment and registration.
As a designated P-Tech Academy at Summit High School, the Texas Education Agency requires recruitment efforts to target the following areas:
P-Tech Academy at Summit High School recruitment and enrollment processes shall identify, recruit, and enroll the subpopulations of at-risk students (as defined by PEIMS), including, but not limited to, students who are of limited English proficiency, students with disabilities, or students who have failed a state-administered assessment. In addition to those who are at risk as defined by PEIMS, PTECH will also recruit those who are historically underrepresented in college courses (e.g., first-generation collegegoers and students of low socioeconomic status).
Students who do not meet the target recruitment may still apply and get accepted into the school.
To be considered for admission into the MISD P-Tech Academy at Summit High School, you must:
Be a current 8th grade student
Complete the entire application
Be a resident/approved transfer student of MISD
Send the most current academic record/report card if you do not currently attend an MISD campus
Demonstrate maturity and potential to matriculate through a college setting
Understand that we offer an Advanced and college-level curriculum
Understand that participation in UIL Sports or Fine Arts is available, but may be limited depending on the student's interests.
Complete the parent/student interview process
Commit to attending summer boot camp for one week
