Next referral window for testing will open in November. Check back for the online referral form.
Any person referring an MISD student for GT testing in Grades K-12 can complete the following form and send it to the counselor at the student's home campus.
GT Appeal Process
Not all children who are assessed for Gifted & Talented services will qualify. While the GT Building Selection Committee follows established guidelines and procedures, teachers, parents and families have the right to appeal the decision.
GT Appeals must be made within 10 calendar days of receiving the notification that your student did not qualify for the GT program.
The link to the appeal form is live only during the appropriate appeal window and will be posted here.
All appeals are heard by a Gifted and Talented District Appeals Committee. The District Appeals Committee will respond in writing to the person making the appeal within ten (10) school days after the Committee considers the evidence. The letter must explain its intent to uphold or amend its original decision or to gather additional data.
