The Visual Arts Program at Walnut Grove Middle School is based on the principles and pedagogy of TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) and the Studio Habits of Mind. It is a choice-based studio environment where students are given the skills, support, resources, space, and time to respond to their own interests and ideas through the making of art via the Artistic Process. A choice-based art room empowers students to think divergently, problem-solve, and make personally meaningful artwork.
