Mission Statement
The Southern Star Award list is a reading incentive program specifically for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students to encourage the lifelong joy of reading. The program provides students with a list of 20 books chosen by Midlothian ISD elementary school librarians for students in MISD. Books are chosen based on age appropriateness for students in grades 3-5 and represent the diversity of cultures and interests found in MISD.
