The Cultural Competency Conference (CCC) is brought to you by the Diversity, Equity, and Cultural Competence Committee (DEqCC). As advisors and consultants to the Academic Senate, DEqCC strives to provide faculty resources to increase cultural competence and strive for cultural proficiency. The CCC and DEqCC, especially highlights social and racial justice, antiracist and decolonial work, and institutional and systemic inequities. Through faculty and student led-workshops, roundtable discussions, keynote speakers, art, performance, food, music, and more, the CCC brings the MiraCosta community together in camaraderie to launch the beginning of each semester inspired to center and drive positive cultural shift at MiraCosta.
We hope that this conference provides us the opportunity to reflect on the challenges we have faced during the pandemic as educators and as people, and at the same time, allows us to heal and inspire one another as we transition to a new phase of our work at MiraCosta. How can we acknowledge the individual and collective trauma we have experienced in the past year? How can we process the difficulties we have faced while working remotely? How have we adjusted to challenges as professionals and human beings? What have we learned that we can use to heal and move forward in our work and in support of our students?
After registering for the conference you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the Zoom meeting, including the passcode for both Zoom rooms.
