Ms. Bodzioch's civics class
About me - This is my 8th year teaching Civics and my 2nd year at MCS. I LOVE this subject.
I have 3 amazing kids and 2 grandsons. My family (see pic above) is the most important thing to me. I will talk about them A LOT this year.
I love to read, ride my bike and chocolate.
Once you are my student, you become part of my world...forever. It is important to me that you feel welcome and that you understand just how much I care about you.
Rules/Expectations:
Students will be asked to complete all assigned readings and all homework assignments by the due date.
Homework may include essays, written work, or a variety of social studies oriented projects.
Quizzes may be given without notice. Tests will be announced in advance in class.
Each of the three 7th grade teachers and our team teachers, follow the Lake County Code of Student Conduct, as well as Minneola Charter School’s rules. Some important expectations to remember are:
no gum or candy;
No phones out on campus
follow dress code; be on time and prepared for class
be respectful of other people and property (especially your Chromebook).
Rules/Expectations continued:
Participation is part of each student’s class work grade. This includes being prepared each day, classroom behavior as well as the quality of work.
Each student must take responsibility to make up any tests, assignments, turn in homework and obtain all notes and handouts missed because of the absence.
Tests must be made up as soon as possible. It is strongly suggested that students do not miss an exam.
Non negotiables:
“I didn’t know” will never be an accepted reason for not making up missed work.
“I can’t” is not an excuse. Every student will be expected to work hard and give 100% effort.
All students must raise their hand and wait to be called on before speaking. This is for both in class and Lake Live students.
Every person in the classroom is to be treated with kindness, respect and courtesy (this applies to students as well as teachers).
I know that you are smart, talented and more than capable of succeeding in my class.
Be open to new ideas and the possibility that Civics is fun, interesting and incredibly relevant to your life.
