Father's day is coming up this Sunday, let's make something to celebrate our dads!

As mentioned earlier, brand new contests are coming very soon!

Due to the load on server, contests in older versions of the game will be phased out. Ongoing contests will still finish, but no new contests will begin.

The new contests will take place on a separate server so it will no longer affect other parts of the game. This will require an update (0.2.73).

What to expect with new contests?

• Separate categories by species, partz, theme, clothing, and more!

• Exclusive partz and item prizes, such as wearable ribbons.

• Voting will no longer require looking through hundreds of petz. You can stop judging anytime and earn coinz for each vote! You can also continue judging a contest where you left off later.

• Instead of separating the same contest into many groups of petz, ALL petz entered in the same contest will be judged together. To maintain the same amount of winners, the top 1% of petz will receive first place price, top 2% will receive second place prize, and so on.

This will solve a lot of problems with the old contest system, such as overloading the server, voter fatigue from too many contests, unfair voting due to too little votes on some undiscovered contests, taking too long to finish voting, hamsters getting lost, DYO petz taking over, and so on.

Will there still be a user partz shop?

-Yes, but the partz will be sold out once all of the current stock is bought/used.

Will I be able to restock my partz?

-Yes, each brush will increase the stock by 15.

What if my existing DYO partz has already sold 15?

-The limit will be capped at the amount it has sold. If you choose to restock with a brush, it will always add at least 15.

What if I used more than 1 brush to create a partz?

-Each brush used will give you 15 partz. For example, if you are making a partz for dogz only, it will cost 1 brush, and give 15 partz. If you make a partz for dogz AND catz, it costs 2 brushes to make, which would give 30 partz.

Will there still be tax on DYO partz?

-No, you will earn 100% of the price you set.

Will I still be able to buy my own partz for 10g?

-It will be free to purchase your own partz, but will count towards the limit.

When will this happen?

-In the next update (0.2.73), along with contest upgrade, should be within a week.

DYO Partz Update: Very soon, DYO partz will no longer have a 10 gemz base price. Instead, it will have a limit of 15 partz per brush used.

The reason for this change is because the original intention behind DYO partz is to allow players more creative freedom, NOT as "the best way to make gemz". Many players who haven't been able to sell their partz (or who aren't able to make partz at all) feel discouraged compared to the top partz creators, since it's very hard to catch up in any other way.

By capping the limit per brush, it will also encourage personal use of DYO partz instead of trying only to create what might be 'popular'.

While creators can still make quite a profit by selling partz without the base tax, it will be more comparable to other ways of earning gemz and level the field for all types of players.

Contest Overhaul: Also coming soon is a new contest system, a much overdue change to separate petz by species, showpoints, partz used, and more. Hamsterz and bred petz can finally get their own spotlight! Plus, lookout for themed shows and exclusive partz and clothing prizes!

Please update to 0.2.70 to use golden brushes, as there's a critical bug in 0.2.69 where if you use your last brush, it will get stuck and fail to submit. If you've lost a brush in this way, please email bugz@pixelpetz.com with your username and details so we can investigate and compensate you (it may take a few days to get to everyone).
