What is Talent Search?

TRIO Talent Search is a federally-funded program housed at Mineral Area College that works with 6th-12th grade students at participating schools to help them improve their academic strengths and college readiness. Three-quarters of participating students meet low-income guidelines and are potential first generation college students. The services our Academic Advisors provide to eligible students include individual appointments, workshops, campus tours, and information for parents. All services are brought to the students’ school sites or through field trips. The topics covered are designed with each age group in mind. Participation is at no cost to you or your student. The goal of Talent Search is to help our students overcome barriers to enroll in college.

Where is Talent Search located?

TRIO Talent Search is located on the Mineral Area College campus. Our primary office is AS-100, located just off the Student Concourse. Park in the main student parking lot, go in the front doors of the Technology Building, walk straight down the hall until you reach the large, open student seating area. Walk passed that into the next hallway; we are the first door on the right.

Our office is open M-F, 8:00-3:00, or by appointment as needed.
