Orlando Bal Vihar was conceptualized unofficially with a few community friends and volunteers in Central Florida in the year 2013. US Hunger is committed to providing healthy meals to those in need. They are committed to solving the root causes of food insecurity. Creating a hunger-free world will be possible if we work collectively to question the underlying poverty-driven socioeconomic factors that forced people to seek help from organizations in the first place. This knowledge has led us to understand that we have an obligation to not just feed people, but to address those factors in concert with one another.

The Bambino Buddy-Ball Division was established for organizations who wish to charter a league that encompasses players ages 5 to 20 who are physically and/or mentally challenged. This division makes allowance for a “buddy” to help the player swing a bat, round the bases, catch a ball, etc. There are no restrictions to the age of the “buddy.” A Bambino Buddy-Ball team may be composed of players ages 5 to 20 and sometimes older. The Bambino Buddy-Ball Division is designed so that everyone has the opportunity to have fun.

Seminole County Sheriff’s Teen Court is a diversion program available through the PAY (Prosecution Alternatives for Youth) office, which deals with cases involving first time youth offenders. These first-time offenders agree to have their case heard by a jury of their peers. Youth between 13-18 y/o comprise the jury and after being cross examined by teen attorneys, the case is presented to the jury for deliberation. Volunteering with Teen Court is a wonderful opportunity for students to gain community service hours, create a positive peer community and improve social skills.
For more information call the PAY office at 407-665-5394 or email teencourt@seminolesheriff.org
