National Hispanic Heritage Month - National Hispanic Heritage Month traditionally honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans as we celebrate heritage rooted in all Latin American countries. Be Kind to Editors and Writers Month - September has been designated as “Be Kind to Writers and Editors Month.” Writing is a tool virtually everyone uses at one time or another, but this month is set aside to honor those who’ve chosen writing and editing as their careers. Library Card Sign-up Month - September is sign up for a library card month! Diversity Awareness Month - This October, celebrate Global Diversity Awareness Month and pay tribute to the diverse minds and beliefs held by all cultures around the world. We live in a multicultural society and embracing the values of various cultures only strengthens our understanding and appreciation of the world. National Bullying Prevention Month - October's National Bullying Prevention Month reminds us that students, parents, teachers, and school administrators all play a role. Positive change comes as we begin to emphasize respect and inclusion on campuses across the country. National German American History Month - From festivals and parades to history lessons and celebrations, flavors and sounds fill the month of October. As early as 1683, families from Germany began settling in Pennsylvania. Ever since then, waves of immigrants brought their ingenuity and perseverance to the United States. National Filipino American History Month - Filipino American History Month is observed in October every year to mark the anniversary of the first recorded evidence of Filipinos in America. Their contributions to our country are exemplary and their achievements are recognized and celebrated throughout this designated month. Information Literacy Awareness Month - Information literacy forms the basis for lifelong learning. It is common to all disciplines, to all learning environments, and to all levels of education. It enables learners to master content and extend their investigations, become more self-directed, and assume greater control over their own learning. National Cyber Security Awareness Month - Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a dedicated month for the public and private sectors, and tribal communities to work together to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity.
