The sections below provide overall expectations for digital storytelling project submissions, be they video or graphics, as well as the specific criteria each project type will be judged on.
Any MPS K-12 individual student
Any MPS K-12 collaborative student groups
Any MPS K-12 classroom group (teacher supported)
Video/Podcast Projects
Narrative Digital Stories - Videos , less than 5 minutes long, telling a narrative story (examples: personal narratives, original scripted short story, retelling of established story in new way)
Informational Digital Stories - Videos, less than 3 minutes long, telling the story of something learned in class (examples: "how-to" videos, biographies, public services announcements)
Graphic Designs
Telling the story of something learned in class through visual digital elements (examples: infographics, digital collage, web pages)
All content must be appropriate and meet Student Code of Conduct standards outlined in the MPS Student Handbook. (No swearing or references drugs, alcohol, sex, violence, etc.)
The work must be completely original, but content may include non-original elements. Projects may include unoriginal content, but that content must be royalty free or have express written permission of the originator and all non-original content must be cited (citation criteria noted below).

All images, video, music must be cited - even if it is original by students (just like at the end of a movie)
For Graphic Design work - if content is not cited on work itself, an additional sheet with citations are required
Web pages must be actively linked in a PDF with image from the site to upload and be part of the Showcase.
Simple citation formats are noted on the attached sheet. Teachers may require other citation formats (APA, MLA, etc.) those are also acceptable formats.
