Term 2 Awards Winter 2024

9th Graders

April Pichardo

April has shown an extreme amount of growth academically in Course 1 Honors this term. She put in maximum effort by completing every homework assignment this term. She demonstrated her understanding on assessments and overcame any challenges she faced this term with resilience and determination. We are excited to see April’s continued success in math class.

Andy Ramkissoon

Andy excelled in Course 1 Honors this term. He showed such growth since last term and continues to develop academically. Andy put in his best effort by completing his homework assignments as well as attending the Tutoring Center for additional support outside of school. We are proud of Andy’s progress and we are looking forward to his continued success in math for the remainder of the year.

10th Graders

Adaora Nkanyimuo

Adaora has been excelling in Course 2 Honors this year. This term in particular included challenging topics. Adaora does not shy away from a challenge, though. She tackles them with hard work and strong problem-solving skills. She consistently earns high scores on difficult assessments because of her work ethic and strong foundation in math. Adaora is committed to her achievement in math and has attended The Calculus Project Summer Academy every summer to get ahead on the math she will learn during the school year. We are proud of Adaora’s success and look forward to her future accomplishments in math class!

Odera Nkanyimuo

Odera has had a lot of success in Course 2 Honors so far this year. She works well with others and always asks questions when she has them. She is very meticulous when solving difficult problems in class which helps her not make careless mistakes. Odera has performed well on all assessments and comes to class each day ready to engage in the content. She is always willing to present her solutions to problems and help a group member when asked. Odera has been a committed member of The Calculus Project, attending all of the summer preview courses since the 8th grade. We expect great things from Odera in her future math courses!

11th Graders

Avaya Queen

Avaya showed tremendous growth in Algebra 2 Honors second term! She was committed to succeeding and she put in the work to make that happen. No matter what we were doing in class she always worked diligently and was sure to ask questions if she had them. She also frequently asked questions outside of class to ensure she had total understanding of the material. She tackled all the difficult Algebra 2 topics head on and we are so proud of how successful she has been! We cannot wait to see her continue to excel the rest of the year!

Jordan Joseph

Jordan is an incredible example of a student who puts in the time and effort to constantly better himself in math. Jordan challenged himself by taking Honors Precalculus this year and he has done tremendously well. He is always completing as much practice as he can and asking questions to master the content. He puts in the extra work outside of class as well, attending the tutoring center to get that extra help to be even more successful. We are so inspired by his hard work and cannot wait to see it pay off for the rest of this school year!

12th Graders

Donna Gauvin

Donna has been outstanding in Calculus this year. It is clear that Donna remembers what they learned at The Calculus Project Summer Academy and they have used those foundational skills to excel all year. Donna works meticulously through problems and pays attention to details to avoid small mistakes. Donna asks thoughtful questions in class and always comes in to review before assessments. We are proud of how successful Donna has been in Calculus and are excited to see how well they perform the rest of the year!

Kevbe Egodogbare

Kevbe has been a rockstar in Calculus all year! She has a strong grasp of the material and asks questions that show a deeper understanding of the concepts. Classmates often check in with her if they have questions on a problem and she is always willing to help them. She attended The Calculus Project Summer Academy every day this summer and that commitment gave her a solid foundation that has benefited her this year. We are excited to see her finish senior year strong!
