Visual Literacy I

VISUAL LITERACY I Honors 80416 Unleveled 80016 2.5 credits

In this half year course students will learn the building blocks of film design. First term will focus on the composition of the frame and the elements filmmakers use to successfully achieve their artistic intent. Second term will focus on special topics which will rotate on a yearly basis. (see special topics scheduled below for next year's offerings). Students will develop the tools to describe, analyze and evaluate films. Visual Literacy is intended to give students a comprehensive look at the visual world they live in so that they can better understand, interpret, and engage with that which surrounds them. Most class work will involve watching, discussing and writing about films.
