Career Planning and Internship

CAREER PLANNING AND INTERNSHIP Unleveled 60020 2.5 credits

This semester-long second semester internship (seniors only) is designed to help seniors consider their career interests and begin planning a career path; whether they are undecided or already have an idea. The course will help students become proficient in core areas including: Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Effective Communication, Technical Skills, Work Responsibilities, Planning and Managing a Career, realizing their “SMARTER” GOALS, and Managing Resources. Students will use personality tests, create self-assessments, learn soft and hard skill identification and development, and explore career opportunities, apply, interview, and secure an unpaid internship. Students are responsible for scheduling and documenting the experience during their 6-week placement (from April till the end of May). Each student will present their final project during an Internship Showcase event at the end of May.
