Creating our Graduate Profile

On July 25, 2022 following more than a year of collaboration with students, administrators, educators, and community members, the Milton Board of Education approved and adopted the "Portrait of a Red Hawk" as our District's graduate profile.

A graduate profile provides a visual representation of the core, teachable competencies our students will develop as Red Hawks and communicates a clear vision for teaching and leaning.

Designed to be aspirational, memorable, and motivational- the Portrait of a Red Hawk is a visual commitment to our District's purpose and a means to measure our success.

Aligned with our strategic plan, our graduate profile creates common definitions and expectations that will, in turn, support the mission and vision of our District.

What Makes A Red Hawk?

The School District of Milton sought the input from our community members, staff, and students to help identify the core values that best prepare our students for a post-graduation readiness. Reviewing feedback from a district-wide community survey as well as the direct input of a  development committee,  a guiding statement and 5 core characteristics were identified.  Compiled together, these became our Portrait of a Red Hawk.

Guiding Statement:

"As a community, we work collaboratively to create an environment where all students are empowered to explore, learn, and achieve their goals. Our District’s high-quality educational experience promotes digital wellness, innovation, responsibility, and inclusiveness, so that all students may become engaged and resilient citizens."
