Creating the Profile

Project Timeline

Fall 2021: Director of Curriculum and Instruction Ryan Ruggles recruited educators, administrators, community members and former students to participate in a Graduate Profile creation process.

January 2022: Graduate Profile committee developed a survey to distribute across the District community in order to gather perspectives on what constitutes "lifetime readiness" for our graduates. The Committee also developed an "engagement plan"  to roll the final profile into the District's day-to-day activities.

February 2022:  Stakeholder survey was finalized and scheduled for distribution. Staff and families received links to complete the survey through District email. Greater community members were invited to complete the survey through social media and direct distribution through community partner organizations.

March through May 2022: Stokehold committee reviewed survey data and identified themes from responses. The team honed in on several core characteristics and discussed design elements on the profile's icon.

May 25, 2022 and June 6, 2022: Stakeholder committee defined the five core characteristics of a "Red Hawk" and directed the design for the icon.

June 29, 2022: District leadership and met with the Board during a strategic planning workshop. Stakeholder committee work was presented to the board to help them align their strategic planning with community feedback. Icon design options were presented for the board to review.

July 11, 2022: During their regular meeting, the Board introduced the "Portrait of a Red Hawk" to the community. (Click Date in bold to see video.)
