Teacher Resources
Welcome Teachers! I've attached a few resources that may be helpful to you!
Target The Problem is a document from Reading Rockets (a great site to visit). It breaks down what a teacher may see a student doing/not able to do and isolates it to each area of reading development.
This site has games to help support reading skills assessed on the MAP tests. They are grouped by RIT ranges.
When students miscue, they are not using the three cueing systems. When we can figure out which one/s they are not using, we can teach them to pay attention to either the meaning, the structure (how language sounds) or how it looks (visual). This will help them self-correct and increase their accuracy!
Chart gives characteristics of each text band with example texts as well.
The six syllable types will help your students identify patterns in words and that pattern will tell them what sounds to use when reading the word!
