We use The Creative Curriculum as a resource within our classes. We have worked as a team to creative an engaging curriculum that best meets the needs of all of our learners within the Preschool Program. 

Heggerty is a phonemic awareness curriculum used within the Preschool Program. Phonemic awareness is the ability to understand that spoken words are made up of individual sounds called phonemes, and it’s one of the best early predictors for reading success. This a wonderful curriculum to engage and increase phonemic awareness within all our preschool learners. 

We use fundations within our daily instruction to helps increase students understanding of letters and letter sounds. 

• Recognition of the alphabetical order of letters a-z

• Letter name, keyword, and sound for the 26 letters of the alphabet (letter-sound correspondence)

• Visual connection between the letter name, its sound, and its grapheme (or written representation)

• Letter formation for lowercase letters

• Letter formation for uppercase letters

• Association of a sound with a letter that is written
