Virtual Reference Collection

As a district, we subscribe to the VRC. It is a wonderful collection of databases that can enrich and enhance your children's educational experience.

There are a few steps to access them, but I promise they are worth it!

  1. Click on the link and in the box type: Laddie A Decker and then click on it

  2. You can scroll through and pick the database that best fits your needs (below I have a list and descriptions of the best databases for your children)

  3. The username is: soundbeach and the password is: ladsbs

Britannica School is a great resource for general information, you can select Elementary level and the traditional database is simplified for the students' use. It is an online encyclopedia.

BrainPop has a bunch of fun educational videos, quizzes and games that students can play.

DK Eyewitness eBooks has some beautiful nonfiction eBooks the students can flip through online.

Culture Grams is personally my favorite database! It is so easy to use and features so much information about different cultures across the world in a fun, interactive way.

Additionally, teachers here is the link to access the Digital Media Library (DML).
