I became a Pirate in 2005 as a Para-Pro for the Miller County High School; I left briefly to finish my B.S. in Education and returned to Pirate Nation in 2016. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Grades ELA and Mathematics at Albany State University. Later, I completed my Master’s Degree in Special Education. I have worked in education for 19 years and 10 of those years have been spent as a PIRATE! I will be teaching 8th grade ELA this year and I am very excited! Since becoming a Pirate, I assist The Miller County Pirate Pride Marching Band as Assistant Band Director. I have been married for 25 years to my best friend and we have four children, two of which have graduated from MCHS. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family and Baton Twirling as co-owner/coach of Persnickety Studios. I never chose teaching as a career, but teaching chose me as a calling!
