Coach Dawson

I am Coach Carmenonique Dawson, and I am excited to be a part of the Pirate Family! I am a Thomasville, Georgia native, and Thomasville City School System 2011 graduate. After receiving a scholarship for women's basketball, I continued my education at Fort Valley State University. I graduated from FVSU with a Bachelor of Science in 2015. I went on to further my Education at Grand Canyon University to receive my Master's in Education 2017, and later, I went to Thomas University to obtain my specialist in Teacher Leadership degree(2020) and and my Tier 1 Educational Leadership certification(2023). I have two children: a seven-year-old son, Alex, and a three-year-old daughter, Aleya.

I am thrilled to be the  Girls' Basketball Coach and a Health and Physical Education teacher at Miller County High School. I am thankful for the opportunity to be apart of our student-athletes growth of this community.  I am excited to contribute my teaching and coaching experience, leadership, and passion for the game to developing student-athletes both on and off the court. I'm looking forward to successful school year!
