This week, as part of our learning about jobs in our local area, we have been talking about jobs people do in our school. We began by drawing pictures and making models of our school (or parts of it). Some of us thought of drawing a plan to work by as we created our Duplo model.
Within the theme of jobs people do we have been thinking about what to focus on in our role play area. We had lots of ideas so we have decided on creating an ‘Emergency Centre’ to incorporate a few of them.
In Literacy and Soft Start we have been enjoying listening and talking together, reading and working on fine motor, writing and memory skills.
In numeracy we continue to focus on subtraction. We liked taking part in a teddy bears' picnic and began to use different vocabulary such as less than, take-away, subtraction and minus.
As a continuation of our work on ‘Time’ we are learning to recognise o’clock times on a digital display and on a clock face. We also made clock faces using numicon numbers.
We continue to enjoy action number rhymes and had great fun playing ‘Elephants on a Spider’s Web’. There were some very imaginative dances.
