School Photos - Please could you ensure your child wears their red MoL jumper tomorrow for our last school photo. Thank you!
Hi all!
Our class book this term is 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas' which will tie in with our topic towards the end of this term. If you would be interested in watching the film (12A) it will be on BBC 4 at 8pm tomorrow and can be watched on BBC iplayer thereafter. It may be useful if you are keen to support your child with their work or your child may be keen to see the film. It is a very, very sad film so I would recommend watching it yourself first or researching it to decide if you think it is suitable.
Hello and welcome to our P7 blog for 2020/21!
This is where Miss Hutcheson and Miss Williamson will post highlights from our learning, announcements, homework and letters too.
Please check our blog regularly to keep up to speed with our learning and fun in P7! :-)
Christmas Jumper and Pantomime
Tomorrow is Christmas jumper day so please feel free to come to school as Christmassy as you would like! P7B will also be watching the Christmas (online) panto tomorrow so they are allowed to bring some nice snacks to munch on. Please only provide snacks for your own child, children will not be allowed to share any food.
Recently we have been learning about our place in space. Here is some of our learning. P7A have enjoyed creating annotated diagrams sharing their learning about the make up of Planet Earth.
Please see more pictures below.
Hi all,
Just a little note to ask, if possible, that children take their own headphones to school for use with the Chromebook each day. They are great for use with online games and activities that have verbal instructions. Please can we also ask that any headphones that do come in are not expensive. Thank you!
P7B are neck in neck on pupil vs. teacher at the moment. If the class are successful they will be allowed to use their own electronics during Milton Moments -there will be no sharing of devices. If you are happy for your child to take in an electronic device tomorrow then I am happy to keep them safe. I will hold onto all devices all day until MM. The children will not have access to them during breaks or lunches. We will have VERY strict rules for use which I have already discussed with the children and I have also explained they will NOT have access to the school internet so will only be able to use offline apps or 4G. The children are aware of what content is considered appropriate for school and we have discussed internet safety at length. We have also discussed that there will be no photography or filming (this includes viewing sites like TikToc & Snapchat). If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email and I will do my best to get back to you before tomorrow. Thank you!
The online game Among Us has recently become a firm favourite for primary seven pupils. Here is a handy information guide for parents.
For your information, we are attaching the home learning grid that has gone out to the rest of the school. This is an OPTIONAL EXTRA for P7. You might like to do some of these home learning jobs with your family. This is not compulsory, just here incase you are looking for something additional to do!!
P7 main home work has been assigned via the google classroom and also posted under the home work tab at the top of this site.
Hi everyone,
Just a quick reminder that with the wet weather coming in our playground is getting pretty muddy. Please ensure your child is coming to school with a pair of indoor shoes for class as well as a jacket. Due to the current Covid advice we are outside as much as possible, often even when it is wet.
Thank you!
We are delighted to have our first visitors into visit P7 this session. Two of our community police officers will be popping into meet with P7 tomorrow, Tuesday 29th September. The community police officers are part of our school community. They will be sharing a little about their role as community police officers, we will be discussing topics such as internet safety, keeping safe within our community as well as a general question and answer session for any issues or topics the pupils would like to learn more about. We will be sure to share the highlights for their visit with you later on in the week.
