First® Tech Challenge is a student-centered robotics program that focuses on giving students a unique and stimulating experience. Each year, teams engage in a new game where they design, build, test, and program autonomous and driver operated robots that must perform a series of tasks. 

Students use advanced build and design techniques such as CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC milling to create custom parts that help optimize their bot and give them an edge over other teams. Students code in Java and use advanced code libraries as well as AI machine learning to optimize their code to its fullest potential.

The VEX Robotics Competition, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, is the largest and fastest-growing middle school and high school robotics program globally with more than 20,000 teams from 50 countries playing in over 1,700 competitions worldwide. Each year, an exciting engineering challenge is presented in the form of a game. Students, with guidance from their teachers and mentors, build innovative robots and compete year-round.
