CPT Maria Fleischman-Borden
CPT Fleischman-Borden is a Clinical Psychology Resident at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, Texas. She earned her BA in Sociology and Masters degrees in Teaching and Special Education from the University of Washington, Seattle. Prior to pursuing psychology, she worked for nine years as a special education teacher in South Korea and Washington State. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis with a concentration in Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine. During her doctoral training, CPT Fleischman-Borden enlisted in the Indiana National Guard and later commissioned into the U.S. Army through the Health Professions Scholarship Program. She completed her clinical psychology internship at BAMC. Her clinical and research interests include organizational psychology, health equity and access to care, and moral injury. In her spare time, she enjoys camping and hiking with her husband and friends, reading dystopian young adult fiction, and engaging in veteran community-building through Irreverent Warriors.
MAJ Melisa Finley
MAJ Finley entered active duty status as a clinical psychology intern at Tripler Army Medical Center (AMC) in 2014. After completing internship and postdoctoral training requirements, she PCSd to Baumholder, Germany as a Behavioral Health Officer of the 254th Combat Operational Stress Control (COSC) unit immediately taking part in a 9-month deployment to CENTCOM supporting troops in Iraq, Jordan and Kuwait. Following her time at the 254th COSC, she completed a two-year American Psychological Association (APA) accredited fellowship in Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology at Tripler AMC from JUN 2019 to JUN 2021. MAJ Finley then transitioned to Fort Bragg to serve as Chief of an Embedding Behavioral Health clinic from AUG 2021 – APR 2024. In MAY 2024 she transitioned into her current role as program director for the clinical psychology residency program. In JUL 2025 she was appointed Chief of Child and Family Behavioral Health Services at FT Bragg. MAJ Finley is passionate about individual and organizational wellbeing. She is a proud US Army MEDCOM Officer with goals of contributing towards the advancement of Army Psychology across the formation.
LT Sagar S. Lad, Psy.D., CSP, HSP‑P
LT Lad is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Staff Neuropsychologist with the VISN 20 Clinical Resource Hub Tele‑Neuropsychology Program at the Boise VA Medical Center, providing nationwide neuropsychological assessment and cognitive rehabilitation services to Veteran populations. His clinical expertise includes neurodegenerative disorders, traumatic brain injury, polytrauma, complex medical‑psychiatric presentations, and cognitive disorders across the lifespan. He also serves as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy (USN) Reserve within the Medical Service Corps.
LT Lad completed advanced training through the Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center (MIRECC) as an Advanced Psychology Fellow (Neuropsychology Specialty) at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Healthcare System and APA‑accredited predoctoral internship at the Finger Lakes VA Healthcare System at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center. LT Lad completed rotations in neuropsychology, geriatric assessment, inpatient mental health, cognitive rehabilitation, and interdisciplinary geriatric medicine and has held clinical roles across multiple VA systems, academic medical centers, and specialty clinics. His research portfolio includes funded work examining neuropsychological assessment, large‑scale data analyses, and collaborations involving multimodal neuroimaging.
LT Lad is credentialed as a Health Services Provider Psychologist and a Certified Specialist in Psychometry. LT Lad is also an active educator, adjunct faculty member, and invited speaker on neuropsychology and clinical assessments.
Annie McConnon, 1LT, USA
Annie is a 3rd year clinical psychology doctoral student at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). She earned her bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, followed by a master’s degree in clinical counseling and Sport/Performance Psychology from Boston University. She is currently the Sport Psychology extern at the United States Naval Academy Midshipmen Development Center. Her research interests include performance psychology interventions for military musicians and integrating artificial intelligence into the military behavioral health system.
CPT Adam Raines
CPT Raines entered active duty status in JUN 2024 as a clinical psychology intern at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC). Prior to this, he commissioned into the Army Reserves in 2020 as a Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) recipient. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from Florida International University in 2014 and completed graduate training at Virginia Tech. There, he initially studied the neurological basis of magnetoreception in rodents before transitioning to the Clinical Psychology program, earning his M.S. and Ph.D. with a research focus on Measurement Based Care. Following the completion of his internship requirements in 2025, he remained at BAMC to begin his postdoctoral clinical residency in MAR 2026. CPT Raines is passionate about Measurement Based Care, training and implementation science, and the process improvement of psychological services within a military context.
MAJ Rachel L. Prokop
MAJ Prokop, Psy.D., is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Health Psychology Fellow at Tripler Army Medical Center, where she is engaged in advanced specialty training utilizing a scholar–practitioner model grounded in contemporary, evidence-based biopsychosocial interventions. She has served nearly a decade on active duty in the U.S. Army, including appointments as the sole Active-Duty Psychologist at Lyster Army Health Clinic and as the Brigade Behavioral Health Officer for the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, providing consultation to command teams, conducting comprehensive psychological and aeromedical evaluations, and delivering clinical services across operational and garrison environments. She completed her internship and residency at Brooke Army Medical Center. Dr. Prokop’s clinical and instructional portfolio includes aeromedical psychology, health psychology, trauma-focused interventions, and the training of aviation and medical personnel in stress, fatigue, and behavioral health readiness.
Katharina Simms, CPT, USA
Kat is a second-year Clinical Psychology student at USUHS (Military Track). Prior to her entry into the doctoral program, she was commissioned for 6 years as an Adjutant General and served as a Battalion S1 at the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Grafenwoehr, Germany, and as the Detachment Commander at the Soldier Recovery Brigade in Bethesda, MD. She completed an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a DBA in Business Administration. Her research interests include trauma, moral injury, suicidal ideation, and stress.

The Society Leadership Program is designed to help participants
Understand the structure and function of leadership positions in the Society
Assess one’s own leadership style using various perspectives
Observe EXCOM meetings
Observe and participate in leadership activities
Conceptualize and implement a SLP capstone project to be completed and presented at the APA convention
Network and develop working relationships with Society leaders
Identify a path to leadership within the Society and seek/obtain a leadership position
