Presenter Biography

Hi there! My name is Matt Gillispie. I am an ELA teacher at Milford High School. I am in my eleventh year of teaching. Currently, I teach 9th grade English and have done so at Milford for the past four years. Previously, I taught English in Central Ohio at Lancaster High School. I have taught ninth, tenth, eleventh grade of all levels.

I am also an author and tech leader. I co-wrote a grant in 2011 for $100,000 to use iPads in the classroom. I am the author of the teacher resource book, From Notepad to iPad. I have spoken at numerous conferences, including the 2012, 2014, and 2017 OETC conferences, the 2015 High AIMS conference, the 2016 GAFE Summit, and the 2017 ITIP Google Summit. Much of the sessions I hold revolve around teaching the ELA standards with technology to promote communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking skills. Coming from schools based around iPads and chromebooks, I can provide an arsenal of tools and activities to help you and your students in your classroom!

I am also a husband and father. I love reading and writing (when I can find the time)!
