What is a senior portrait?

A senior portrait is a picture taken by a professional that appears in the senior section of the yearbook, typically with a senior profile and baby picture.

When should I get my senior portrait taken?

As soon as possible! We encourage you to schedule your senior portrait sitting now because dates fill up fast!

When is the deadline for senior portraits?  

November 3, 2023. The senior section is part of our yearbook publisher’s first deadline. In order to have this section done in time for submission to our printer, we must receive all senior portraits by November 3.

How do I find a professional photographer? 

Morin’s Studio in Milford is the event photographer for Milford High School. Students may schedule their portrait sitting with Morin’s or a photographer of their choice. If you prefer to find your own photographer, recent graduates are often a good resource for local photographer recommendations.

What if hiring a professional photographer doesn’t fit our budget? 

Our student yearbook photographers are also available to take senior photos (free of charge) in the MHS Photo studio. Please contact yearbook@milfordma.com as soon as possible if you would like to select this option. Photography sessions with student photographers will be scheduled in the fall.

Will you accept a picture taken from a cell phone?
No. Our yearbook vendor requires high-quality, full-resolution (300 dpi) pictures taken by a professional.

Are there any other requirements for senior portrait pictures? YES!
Please keep in mind the following: 

• ALL portraits must be vertical torso (from the waist up) or head shots. No full body shots.

• Indoor or outdoor pictures are accepted, however we can not accept pictures that include backlighting (see example at the end of this newsletter)

• Dress code for pictures is “school appropriate”. Please see the Student Handbook for clarification.

• Pictures must be high quality, full resolution (300 dpi). The larger the picture, the better. We will shrink it down to the size we need. We are unable to use pictures that are not 300 dpi.

ABOUT BABY PICTURES

This year we will keep the tradition of including a baby picture of each senior in the yearbook.  We hope that 100% of the Class of 2024 will submit their baby picture.

Where do I send the baby picture?

Baby pictures should also be submitted electronically to https://tinyurl.com/MHSpictures . 

What if I only have a hard copy print of the baby picture?

Electronic copies of baby pictures are the preferred method for submission. If you only have a hard copy of the baby picture, please scan it if possible or contact the yearbook staff at yearbook@milfordma.com to determine if additional options are available. 

Can I take a picture of the baby picture and send it in?

No. Taking a  picture of a picture extremely diminishes the quality of an image and it will not be able to be used in the yearbook.

What is the deadline for submitting the baby picture?

The baby picture deadline is the same day as senior portraits, Friday, November 3, 2023.
