M.ASc student at Mila - Quebec AI Institute and Polytechnique Montreal

Nice to Meet You

Born in Quito, Ecuador, I moved to Toronto, Canada at a young age. Following my high school studies, I moved to Montreal in 2020 to begin my higher education with McGill University studying Computer Science in the Faculty of Science.

After involving myself in research projects with Professor Erik Cook in the department of physiology and another project with Professor Danilo Bzdok in the department of biomedical engineering and Mila - Quebec AI Institute, I decided to pursue graduate studies.

I graduated from McGill University in 2024 with First Class Honours in my B.Sc Honours Computer Science degree with a Minor in Neuroscience aimed at employing Machine Learning to the field of health, especially Neuroscience. To realize this, I joined Professor Marco Bonizzato's lab in Polytechnique Montreal with a partnership at Mila - Quebec AI Institute with co-supervision under the direction of Professor Guillaume Lajoie. I now conduct research in Neuroprosthetics, developing Machine Learning pipelines and architectures to solve neurostimulation problems for traumatic spinal cord injury therapy.

Aside from academics, I am a strong advocate for mental health. I was a member of the mental health committee at McGill University for 2 years before becoming the director of the committee in my final year. Sports play a large part in my life too, being captain of my high school volleyball team and member of McGill University's Mens Volleyball Club through my studies. I am passionate about travelling, exploring new cultures, and constantly learning and always open to new opportunities!
