Lemonade on the Lawn
Every Wednesday @ 10:30am & 5:30pm July 2nd-September 3rd
Join us on the library lawn for stories, lemonade, and a snack. Additional activities will be provided by COMHPS (Community Mental Health Promotion and Support) after select sessions.
*June 9th Until Gone: Tiny Art Kit Handout
Pick up a kit with a tiny canvas, decorate it however you would like (within the supplied rules) and then return it before the deadline to have your artwork included in our Tiny Art Show!
July 1st 12-2pm: Summer Reading Kick Off Chalk the Walk
Learn more about summer reading, sign up, get registered for limited attendance programs, learn about the Lumberjanes book club, and create chalk art! In the event of inclement weather, chalk art will be moved indoors.
*July 3rd: Chalk Stencil Art
Create art in the children's room using chalk, black paper, and provided shapes.
★July 8th 5-6pm: Perler Bead Art
Create cool keychains using Perler Beads! Registration is required!
*July 10th: Sequin Crowns
Create your own crown using soft wire and sequins.
July 11th 12-2pm: Teddy Bear Picnic
Our classic annual event! Bring along a stuffed animal friend and pack a lunch or a snack to eat on the library lawn. We will read stories about teddy bears, listen to music, and play outside.
July 11th 6-7:30pm: Tiny Art Show
Check out some art made by community members, enjoy snacks and have fun! Some artwork will be available for purchase with the proceeds benefitting the library!
July 15th 5-6pm: Paint Fight
Get ready to get messy! We will be having a water war with watered down paint (non-toxic, washable). Wear clothes that you don't mind getting messy, and be sure to bring a change of clothes if you plan to come into the library afterward! Outdoor changing tents will be available. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be cancelled.
*July 17th: Water Color Paint Critters
Create a silly critter using watercolor paint and other supplies.
★July 22nd 1-2pm: Custom Crayon Making
Create a solar oven at the library and receive the supplies needed to make your own custom crayon using solar power! Registration is required!
*July 24th: Crayon Rubbing Art
Create unique pieces of art using crayons, texture plates, cutouts, and more!
July 29th 5-6pm: Decoupage Paper Lanterns
Create a glowing paper lantern in your favorite colors using tissue paper and glue!
*July 31st: Origami
Create fun paper animals, flowers, and more with simple, easy to follow instructions.
★August 5th 5-6pm: Shadow Box Shelf Scenes
Create a shadow box scene to display on your bookshelf. Miniatures and other supplies will be provided. Registration is required!
*August 7th: Cut Up Collage
Create collages with comic book pages, magazine photos, patterned paper, and more.
★August 8th 3-5pm: Graphic Novel Book Club Party
Those who have read the graphic novel Beware the Kitten Holy by Grace Ellis, ND Stevenson, and Shannon Watters are invited to attend a party with snacks, games, prizes & more related to the book! Registration is required!
★August 12th 5-6pm: Pounded Flower Tote Bag Making
Create your own tote bag featuring flower designs created by hammering flowers onto the bag's fabric. Registration is required!
*August 14th: Nature Art: Leaf Stamps
Create artwork by using leaves and other natural materials as stamps!
★August 19th 5-6pm: Sharpie Tie-Dye
Create a tie dye shirt or other item using sharpies and isopropyl alcohol. Please bring your prefered item to tie dye. In the event of inclement weather, the program will move indoors and will switch to regular tie dye due to the strong smell of the isopropyl alcohol. Registration is required!
*August 21st: Marker Spinner
Create art by spinning markers like a top over sheets of paper. Spinners will be preassembled, but instructions will be provided for those interested in making them at home.
August 26th 5-6pm: Yarnapalooza
Celebrate all things yarn with yarn mazes, yarn bracelets, yarn games, and more! In the event of inclement weather, the program will be moved indoors.
*August 28th: Yarn & Bead Art
Create your own yarn and bead masterpiece.
★ September 2nd 5-6pm: Claymation Flip Books
Create a story by animating clay figures. BYOD (Bring your own device) with a camera if possible. Photos of each claymation scene will be printed out to create a flipbook animation. Registration is required!
*September 4th: Air Dry Clay Critters
Create a critter using air dry clay and a variety of other provided materials.
