Building Midwives of Excellence® requires building a strong writing foundation.
MCU's Writing Lab is a hub for students, faculty, and staff to explore how to submit papers for review, properly format in APA, write practice guidelines, and much more!
Whether you are here to submit a paper for review or brush up on APA citations, check out what MCU's Writing Lab has to offer. Here are some of our key offerings:
Melady (pronounced Mel-uh-dee) Elifritz (she/they) is an enthusiastic supporter of student engagement, curriculum building, and writing pedagogy. She received a dual BA in Gender/Women's Studies and Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and an MA in Philosophy from Marquette University, where she is still working on her PhD. Her research is broadly on the social and political status of pregnant people and the complex ways gender, sexuality, and race shape and are shaped by social reproduction. Melady's work is guided by their background as a full spectrum doula and their ongoing commitment to reproductive justice.
Melady and her family live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - the homelands of the Menominee, Potawatomi, Ho-Chunk, Fox, Mascouten, Sauk and Ojibwe nations. When not working Melady is often out on a run near Lake Michigan, starting a new craft project, or finding a way to connect everything back to Spinoza (one of her favorite philosophers).
